Hi!

I’ve been on the internet for a long time in all sorts of forms. This is my blog. I have other sites too, but this one is just for random creative stuff.

Quick bio: Male, Old, Film Degree from UARTS, recently moved to Japan. That’s all you need to know.

Oh, and as far as the name… Everybody asks. I figure I might as well tell the story here.

Many years ago I was just starting to get into Japanese rock music. Almost obsessively. I had just gotten my hands on some stuff from a band called Janne Da Arc and had loaded my awesome, badass 20 GB iPod (2nd gen). I went for a walk around Old City in Philadelphia, where I was living at the time and I wasn’t really paying attention to the lyrics. The song “rasen” was playing and the singer said what I thought was “psycho melody”. I thought that was great. One quick search on google later and I noticed that the word “psychomelody” didn’t even really exist on google at the time. Been using it ever since. The truth is that Yasu, the singer, really said “さいこう メロディー” (sa ikou merodī) “Saikou” basically means amazing, supreme, or the best. So since then I kinda see it both ways.
